About Granville

Located south of Cherbourg and west of Paris, Granville is divided into upper and lower towns. The fortified upper town stands on a promontory overlooking the Baie du Mont-St-Michel. The lower town, is a seaside resort featuring a casino, gardens and promenades. Granville also serves as an embarkation point for travel to the Channel Islands.
But for some peace and quiet, the lovely garden created by the family of the couturier Christian-Dior, and now open to the public, is a good place to visit.

One of France most enjoyable tradition is the frequent markets you can visit. French people have a tradition of eating fresh and shopping almost everyday for their food. You will find markets in Granville to be a feast for the fish and sea food lovers, but lots of other produces come in a wide variety. Very friendly experience with the rural inhabitant of the place. They take place on a regular basis on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Cours Jonville, close to the port, take the Rue de la Libération until Rue Paul Poirier or Saint-Sauveur.
