The Mercure is part of the Accor Hotels group and our stay convinced us we will try them again. It is a fairly new and modern hotel. It doesn't particularly impress from the exterior, but our room was bright, cheery, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was a fairly sleek design and spotless. The reception area, lounge and breakfast area are very attractive and welcoming - in fact we ate there each morning and had drinks most evenings. The staff were all most cordial and always ready to help with such things as arranging dinner reservations for us.
The breakfast buffet was exceptionally good with a huge selection of meats, eggs, cereals, breads, juices, yogurts, cheeses and of course good coffee. The cost is 11 Euro but well worth it.
There is also secure parking in a lot behind the hotel for a daily fee of 6.50 Euro.
The hotel is well located: just down the street from the tourist info office and a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of the city, the basin.
