Lavomatique - a laundromat in Honfleur
by rexvaughan
We try to travel light and, besides washing a few small items in hotel sinks, seek some way in the middle of a trip to do some laundry. Honfleur has a very nice, modern (and expensive) Lavomatique. The machines do a very nice job of washing and drying clothes but be prepared to spend some money.
Rates are (in Euros):
Washing - 6kg 3.50, 7kg 3.80 and 16 kg 7.50
Drying - 1.00 per 8 minutes
Detergent - 1.00 per load although you get a packet which will do 2 small loads
Everything is fully automated from a central panel where you put the money and select the machine. It accepts coins as well as 5, 10 and 20 Euro notes. I fed the machine so much I lost track but may have spent about $25 for a medium size load of clothes, but they were nice and clean and dry.
It is located very near the Tourist Info office on the streets Paul Breard, rue de la Chaussee and rue Notre Dame just off the rue de la Republique.
Hordes of Tourists Invade the Town
by ExGuyParis
One Sunday in July, we decided to drive to Honfleur. The trip that should have taken less than two hours took over three, because just about every other Parisian also decided it was a good day to visit Honfleur! At each toll booth on A13, there was a 10 km or so backup. We got off the highway and worked our way via back roads. Finally we reached Honfleur. The huge parking area by the water was almost full.
Still, it was a glorious day, and watching other tourists can be fun. Here, tourists take over rue de la Ville.

...Its always hot and steamy in Naturospace, a lush re-creation of a tropical rainforest full of beautiful butterflies
Their sizes and colors are amazing and they flutter everywhere, and there are cases with pupea in them and you can watch butterflies emerging from them

Living Canvas!

If you'd like to go to a place where every scene is from a painting, this city is the one. From sidewalk cafes to antique shops to cozy bistros, you will think you've stepped right into a surreal canvas in this lovely place.
Complete with a quiet harbor and a glorious all wood church made in the style of the shipbuilder's art.
If we wanted to "vanish" here's where we would end up.
