Couldn't have asked for better
We had the very top room at Les Terrasses Poulard. It was a bit of a climb, but very worth the effort. Check in was easy, parking not a problem. We packed light over-night bags for our one night stay. The room had nice furnishings and a very nice and modern bathroom. I didn't spend much time in the room though, it was so great to be on the mont, to wander the village and ramparts, to explore to our hearts content without the crowds that are apparently common during the day. The sunset was late (about 10:30) and sunrise early in June so we had lots of daylight. We never saw or heard anyone else at the hotel, we expected nothing extra from the staff. But the room was clean and had nice soft towels, and extra amenities. The hotel restaurant is higher up the street with a bay view. We didn't try it as there were plenty of options.
Unique Quality: The outstanding thing about this hotel is its location on the Mont. It was worth every Euro.

Hotel in the island
It is highly recommended to overnight in Mont St Michel, as this small island will calm down in the evenings when masses of tourist have escaped it. Great experience.
Very helpful staff.
If you're staying in the hotel you will get a free parking.
Unique Quality: Remember to shut the windows in the evening as the local swamps will produce a extreme amount of mosquitoes (in July) which will fly in to the rooms and can be noisy in the darkness. However, they are not as blood thirsty as their Lappish colleagues.

Excellent Hotel in the Heart of the Island
We stayed here in October of 2004, It was a very nice hotel. It's located on the island in the center of the village. We were there during the more quiet season and at night we were only 2 of a hand full of people on the whole island.
Unique Quality: It was great to open our windows and look up to see St. Michel glowing in the night sky. I should warn you PACK LIGHT! This hotel is in an OLD building and there are no elevators. We stayed on one of the upper floors so it was quite a climb, but that said being able to stay on the island was worth every step and I hope to stay there again soon!

Tranquil hotel at the beautiful old town
Located at the foot of St Michel Abbey, you can choose the room with the sea view or the town.
The hotel is clean and comfortable.The restaurant is good, offers good quality traditional seafood and very nice dessert -- crepes, ice cream.
Please notice that the island is getting really cold on fall-winter. Prepare your coat!
