A good Mercure Hotel.

The quality of Mercure Hotels from group Accor do vary. The one at the Centre Clemenceau was on the good side.
For us it was a stop on the way to the south of France. Access from the highway was easy. The hotel is located at 1 Km from the historical centre.
They have a free garage with enough places but the maneuvers are difficult for a car with more than 4,50 m length.
Reception was fast and efficient (we were on a Sunday with less business guests). We had a non-smoking room like reserved.
The room at ± 125 €/night was large with a correct comfort for a 3 star hotel in France. The bath was exceptionally long. The first time I could stretch my full length in a hotel bath.
The night was quiet at the 6th floor. Strange was a winter duvet on the bed in June in a town which is not in the mountains!
Continental breakfast served in the room for 14,50 €.

As it was raining we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good Burgundy kitchen, medium priced, large quantities. Excellent desserts and cheeses served with no parsimony. Good service.

I got a CHOC when I SAW the WINE LIST. I know, from experience, that Burgundy wines are expensive - too expensive - but it took me a long search to find a red wine at less than 30 €. There was a plethora of wines at 100, 1000 even 2000 €/bottle !
Here I understood how some business diners can reach astronomic figures (paid by the stockholders of private or public companies).
I would suggest to the "maître sommelier" of this restaurant to write a separate "carte de vins" for the ordinary travelers.
