Situated in a tiny village of IGE, very elegant french chateau with history. This château was built in 1235 by the Counts of Mâcon. Its four feudal towers, and two 18th century tours look down imperiously on a peaceful, romantic garden. You can have your meals in the restaurant or on a very romantic veranda (if the weather permits). They have only 16 rooms, each has its own name and design. We stayed in the room called Old France, it was very elegant with a spacious bathroom .You feel really very special from the moment you come to the reception. The service is very good and unnoticeable.
We stayed in this Chateau for 2 nights and I would have gladly had stayed for one or two nights more to enjoy walks, nearby villages and simple sitting in the garden of the Chateau with a book or even without... just sitting and thinking about nothing at all in this calm and peace that we miss so much living in megapolices.
The dining in the hotel was an unforgettable experience and probably the best during this 2 weeks trip along Bourgogne and Provence that we took. If you have an opportunity to stay here for a night at least, do not miss it!
Unique Quality: Excellent, elegant, small hotel.
