hostellerie chateau de la Barge: tranquil surroundings
Driving up from the Cote D'Azur to Macon, we stumbled across this 3* hotel, signposted from the main N6 road. What a great find. Traditional chateau style hotel with all the comforts.
The hotel has a fabulous restaurant(if a bit pricey). Extensive menu and wine list(plenty of Macon wine). The hotel was pretty full . We requested a double room but all that was left was a suite, which we were given for the price of a double standard room.
Last service in the restaurant was 9.30pm but this may have changed
Unique Quality: The hotel has a large garden mainly given over to lawns with a swimming pool.
