Taize: Roughing it!
Most people tend to stay on site at Taize - either camping or in the dorms in the 'barracks'. Its all very simple but that is part of what Taize is about. Its clean and adequate. Be prepared you will be on work teams and expected to help clean the site. The bathrooms shared but are fine with separate shower cubicles and are cleaned well everyday. Food is very simple, expect plastic plate, spoon and a bowl to drink from- no knifes or cups (i found the little fruit knife I carry travelling very useful) and expect long queues in summer! All of this is part of the simple life that makes up the Taize experience!

Barracks with bunk beds or tents: Don't expect too much
In Taizé you are assigned a bed in a barrack or a place in a tent. You can also bring your own tents.
Forget en suite, the bathrooms are in different buildings. But remember, you're there for the people, the classes, the discussions, not for a nice room in a hotel.
( Cluny nearby has some very good hotels)
After your arrival, you are asked what you think you can pay. You are given an estimate which differs depending on the country you are from. It's never much.
