Hotel Loch: A convenient location

We were disappointed by the available choice of hotels for an overnight stop close to Auray. But this was a 2*, 3 chimney Logis de France and in the right place. Close to Auray and ST-Goustan Harbour, on our route but off the main road in a quite location with trees and open space all around the well kept grounds..
Its architecture and, to me, unattractive exterior appearance was off-putting but the warm and friendly reception most reassuring.

Our room, overlooking the back of the hotel, was of a good size but some of the space was taken up by a very shabby spare bed, folded into the shape of a bulky armchair. The once attractive upholstery cover was in ribbons, as though a family of kittens had sharpened their claws on it. A piece of furniture in urgent need of restoration - or throwing out of guest bedrooms in an hotel!

Otherwise the room was clean, reasonably furnished but in need of updating. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine. There was free wifi access in the room.
Meals are served in La Sterne restaurant a very large room with unattractive decor an lighting.The overall impression was very cold.
It was a Wednesday evening and there were few diners. We chose the set menu - as it seemed did most people - but I can't remember anything about the contents of the meal except it reminded me of the sort food served in British hotels in the 1960's.
I wondered if it was the chef's night off. or if it was always like that.
Breakfast was equally unmemorable and overall our stay here was not of the standard Logis usually offer and certainly not good value for money. A very disappointing stay
