How to get to Guernsey from France
Does anyone know how to get from Tours to Dinard - trying to get to Guernsey and it is proving really difficult. Don't have a car, so reliant on bus, train or plane.
Have transport to Bordeaux and Tours, but nothing then til Paris but would like to do a side-trip to Guernsey for a week.
Any suggestions as to cheap flights (that don't have to go into the UK if poss) would be great.

You take a train to St. Malo from wherever you are and then cross over to Guernsey by boat.
A train from Tours to St. Malo (with 2 changeovers) takes anything from 3.5 to 5.5. hours.

Yes,agree with ATLC, here in St. Malo Condor Ferries goes direct to Guernsey but only at certain times of the day. No good me telling you the fare as it changes from weekday to weekend, depends if there is a promo, etc, etc. www.condorferries.com
There is also the possibility of flying from Dinard with Aurigny Air Services. Cost there is variable as well. Check out www.aurigny.com

That may be a matter of perspective. I went to Jersey from Saint Malo (with no advance reservations on boat or hotel in Jersey) but I was already in Bretagne anyway. Went like a breeze :-)
In any case: enjoy your stay and travel! I very much enjoyed myself in that region.

Thanks - am going to continue to Paris and take a flight - in the end it's cheaper and easier - who would have thought. Thanks for replying.

Thanks, will look into this - at this stage, the easiest seems to be to continue to Paris and then fly but still have to go via Southampton!
