Rennes Accomodation

by Allie14

As I said in my last question, I am looking for budget accomodation in Rennes. I would prefer to stay in the Centre or close to a metro point.

Has any one been to the Le Marechal Joffre Hotel, the De Leon Hotel or The D'Angleterre Hotel?? I found them in a booklet from the tourist office and on various websites but there aren't any photos any where. What I am looking for is a simple but clean room.

Thanks every one

Try the following.

http://www.arvorhotel.com/ (only in French)
http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk

The second web site is in English. Type in Rennes and you will find two hotels under Bretagne. The Hotel Arvor is by the train station so is centrally located. Both sites have photos.

I haven't stayed in it (or in Rennes), but the Logis de France hotel chain is reliably clean and comfortable. There is usually a very nice restaurant in the hotel too. The Logis de France reservation system is excellent. We've used it for years.

Another web site to consider is http://www.france.com and type Rennes in the search window.

Good luck.

Travel Tips for Rennes

Colours...

Rennes is the capital of Brittany, the gateway to this wonderful region, which has its own identity and culture (Breton language, history, music, legends). The landscapes around the city, at the nearby villages, where you enjoy the unique flora and fauna, are so colourful...

Rennes

by grayfo

The capital city of Brittany, Rennes takes its name from the Redones, one of the Celtic tribes of pre-Roman times. Rennes is a modern city with a historic centre as well as being the regional capital of Brittany.

Rennes has a large student population due to its two universities and a medical school along with numerous specialised schools. The nightlife tends to be in the cafés and bars which frequently offer entertainment in the form of traditional Breton music.
