Renne to Auray - Buses

by SteveTomlinson

Hello,
I fly in to Rennes on Saturday 15th august 2009 at 19.00 hrs. Is there a bus that I may take from the airport to Auray that evening or the next day?

Many thanks

Steve

Hi Steve, there is a train service that night, leaving at 21:41 and arriving at 22:56. It is a TGV train, so you will have to make a reservation. (there is another one leaving at 19:11, but that really would be cutting it too close)

Good travels,

It seems the only bus from the airport runs to Rennes itself:

http://www.rennes.aeroport.fr//en/principal-headings/vertical-menu/access-and-parking/taxis-and-buses.html

http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml

suggests there is another train, at 21:19

Check on www.sncf.com the French railway site. You can book your ticket through them too, if you wish (you can buy tickets at the station if there is availability).

Travel Tips for Rennes

Kissing on the cheeks

by Mikebond

When people meet, they greet with the typical Breton custom of kissing on the cheeks (se faire la bise). As for what I have seen, they exchange either one or two kisses, the two-kiss option seeming slightly predominant.

Jardin du Thabor

by Mikebond

The Jardin du Thabor was the kitchen garden of the Benedictines, who called it like the Palestinian mount. In the 18th century, the garden was opened to the public and today it's the largest park in Rennes. You can find there a French and a botanical garden. Have a look at the gate and at the statues among the flowers (fourth photo).
