Big boats moored at St Malo
Many warships and big sailing boats are moored at Saint Malo just outside the walls in the harbour. One gets a very good view from the walls, or can walk along the harbour to admire them, just outside the southern wall.

Lots of personality, in an old town surrounded by strong walls. The walls are perfect (reconstructed after WW2), and you can walk all around the town, with a good perspective of tthe city and its architecture, and all the beaches. Down there, the town is lively, with all the people escaped from the freezing beach. Beautiful, yes, but... beach+Europe=Iberia. And I'm not chauvinist...
The chancel and ambulatory were created in the 13C with a flat-ended apse. The glass was destroyed in WWII and has been replaced by delicately colored abstract irregular polygonal forms that emphasize the restored stone tracery in and around the classic Rose Window. (We do not know the artist). The trefoil arched triforium adds to the blend. One of the ambulatory chapels is actively used as a site for daily worship.
Inter-Muros is one of the most complete walled cities I've visited. the restruants, hotels, and shops are a real treat to the senses. Historically, St. Malo is home to the Corsaires brave semi-pirates that raided all but french shipping. the town of St Malo is a nice village but the beach front is spectacular with 2 or 3 miles of hotels, with a wide stone walk/bulkhead to travel on. Many, many historic sites and villages are very near.
Beach at St Malo. I was standing at the edge of the beach when i took this photo. The beach is so wide, seem more like a desert if not for the houses at the far end. I stumbled upon this beautiful coastal town on my trip to Mont St Michel. Used to be a pirate town in the olden days but now it’s a beach resort famous among the French and foreign tourists. Most of the old town was destroyed during WWII but it was reconstructed after the war. There is an ancient walled city which is a must see for tourist.
