Domaine L'Arbrelle
A nice quiet room with its own small balcony, overlooking a little river. Tables and chairs are provided on the balcony so you can enjoy the evening sun, birdwatch, read a book, have a post or pre-dinner drink.
There are also tables out under the trees in the extensive gardens, ideal for relaxing, listening to birdsong, planning your route etc. It was so nice we stayed there for 4 nights, which means it has to be something special.
The room was 84 Euros a night, above average, breakfast 9.00 euros each which is not bad, the choice was tremendous. Menu Mignon was 18 euros each, three courses and excellent. Wine is extra of course, but they have a good cellar.
Unique Quality: Very quiet location, excellent restaurant. It is close to Amboise, so you can see the Castle and yet well away from the town so you have complete peace and quiet.
I have included pictures of one of the excellent meals we had there. The chef Jacqueline is studying for her Michelin Star, a prestigious award given to only the best chefs in France. Judging from her presentation, she is well on the way to achieving it.
La Directrice of the Hotel is a marvellous person. She is professional, funny, warm and welcoming and makes you feel like a valued friend when you arrive.
