Our accommodation in Amboise was a beautiful authentic 18th century manor house built on the foundations of the ancient medieval Monastere des Minimes and situated near the old town.
The salon was beautiful decorated. Next to the salon was the breakfast room. Also a beautiful room and breakfast (typical French) was served in beautiful crockery.
The Manoir is a beautiful 18th century manor house which has been built on foundations of a medieval monastery. Though it is located near town yet its away from the crowd. The moment you enter the grounds you are awed by it's quaint beauty which has the 'blast from the past ' effect. The rooms are cozy, grand and furnished with care. The bathroom is big and the towels are white and fluffy.
We stayed there for two nights and used it as base to tour the Loire Valley Chateaux. The guy at the reception was always polite and helpful.
One negative for me was the overpriced breakfast and the impolite lady serving it. I had asked her if I could have another croissant and she refused quite rudely and informed me that it was one croissant per person... right because that one croissant would bring the whole economy of France down. I would have taken issue with her attitude but I let it go since I was on vacation. But other than this lil irritation the stay was pleasant enough.
