Station verte des vacances: Blere's camping ground

This camping ground is run by the Municipale, the local council and as a result, it is very cheap. There is really nothing here except well kept grounds, plenty of trees, a clean shower block for men and women, hot water and good toilet facilities. I say nothing here, because there is not your usual family shop, disco, games room, horse riding dune buggy racing etc, just a dog friendly three star site. You can, of course find tennis courts a swimming pool mini golf boats pedalos and fishing off site, if that is what you want.

The prices are very cheap, two people, one car and caravan for one place 9.80 Euros per night. Cheaper still if you have a bicycle and a tent 1-2 people 6.50 Euros a night. Hot water is free. You pay extra for children, extra vehicles, electricity, dogs and you don't have to book in advance.

Unique Quality: This quiet campsite is right by the Cher, a pretty river in the Touraine area. You can park your caravan there or just your tents. Each has a well marked clean well mowed flat space with trees as a welcome shade in the hot summer months.

Le Patron is very friendly and obliging, nothing is too much trouble.

There are recycling facilities at the entrance to the site which is marvellous. You have to take your own rubbish there which means that there are not noisy dustcarts and tractors doing the rounds every day and disturbing the peace.
