Attention: tourists looking...

Attention: tourists looking for a 'slice' of French life should go to the garden next to the Cathedral on a Sunday afternoon. It's called 'La Guinguette' and local french people go there to dance to the music of a live band (It's free)...young people but mostly older (40+)..lots of senior citizens.

No, you do not need a partner to dance. You can dance by yourself and women often dance together. The music is good and it's fun to watch an 'older crowd' having a wonderful time. This happens every sunday afternoon during the summer, weather permitting, of course.

"Cathedrale St. Etienne de Bourges"

I had been to Bourges twice during my many visits to France. I found this city rather impressive with its little cobble stone streets and its impressive cathedral. On my very first visit in 1976 we climbed all the way to the bell tower and it was quite a hike..:) But the view is so worth it . The park around the cathedral with its beautiful groomed lawn and flowerbeds is just as impressive.
