Suite Home Hotels: More than a hotel, a residence
We had an absolutely great stay in Suite Hotel in Orleans (actually in Saran, a little north of Orleans) is a great place to stay several nights, as they have spacious rooms, and we booked a kind of studio which had a kitchenette and a large room with a view to a quiet sport (stadium) area.
Unique Quality: Parking is big and free in the courtyard of the hotel. This is one of the hotels in outskirts of towns, newly built with modern and very useful facilities. Reception clerks are very nice, modern elevators and rooms are unbelievable large, in our case almost like an apartment. Incredible value for money.
If you come by car this is a must choice to stay in Orleans if you don't fancy central locations. Or if you are planning a Loire Valley trip, though Orleans is not in the middle, you can have your base here and come late in the evening, as you will have all necessary amenities like microwave oven, cooker and oven, water heater and instant coffee, fridge.
Bathroom is modern, large, with a big stand for putting your bathroom necessities.

Premiere Classe Orléans Nord - Saran: A nice economy-class hotel for a group traveling b
If you'd like to discover the history of Orleans, explore the beautiful French countryside but still be just one hour from the excitement of Paris, then welcome to the Premiere Classe Orleans Nord - Saran Hotel.
The Premiere Classe Orleans Nord - Saran is a secluded hideaway set right between the Sologne and the Beauce, and its proximity to the A10, N60, A701 and A6 Motorways make it easy to get everywhere in the area.
The Premiere Classe Orleans Nord - Saran's on-site restaurant provides a hot meal that goes down great after spending the day on the road. With driving guests in mind, the hotel parking is complimentary.

I stayed at a bungalowparc with my parents and brother. We stayed at Center Parcs les Hauts de Bruyeres.
about 100 dollars each night (price for a four person bungalow in low season)
Unique Quality: Cottages have a television, phone, a backyard with outside furniture, have furniture inside + a fireplace and a kitchen, bathroom, toilet etcetera. The bungalowparc has some shops, a bowling alley and a large subtropical swimmingpool that is open till 22.00 pm.

Ofcourse there are many nature campings around Orleans. Just follow the signs 'camping' to get there. You usually don't have to make reservations here when you bring your own tent and caravan.

The bungalowparc has it's own swimmingpool. The pool is very big, it's more like a tropical Aquadome. You can swim in one of the three pools inside or you can enjoy the large pool outside.

This turkey was walking inside the bungalowparc with her young chicks. It was really cute to see. You could feed them, but not touch, because the mother was very protective of her young ones ;)
Unique Quality: Trees, small pices of forest, pounds with wild birds. Nature is really inside this bungalow parc. In the evening you could see squirles and rabits hop around.

Chateau de Colliers: A Gem: Enchanting Place
Owners Madame Marie-France & Monsieur Christian de Gelis.
It is a non-smoking property!
More photos and info in Chateau de Colliers travelogue.
In 1999, it was FF750 (then US$1=6.2FF) including gorgeous breakfast for two and tax.
We made the reservation via email chcolliers@aol.com to Madame Maire-France Gelis.
Recommendation by Karen Brown:

Unique Quality: Our favorite. Built in 1750, located in a quainte countryside, with back facing the River Loire, very charming.
Excellent food (breakfast or dinner). Madame Marie-France made all the fruit jams and preserves, bakes all the pastries for the breakfast.
Both Madame Marie-France and Monsieur Christian de Gelis are very nice, speaking excellent English. Christian even travels to North Carolina often, as a furniture consultant engineer.
Ask for Chambre Empereur (Emperor's Room) which has a small stairway to the roof terrace which can be accessed by this room only.
