Hi All,
I am planning a trip to Paris for a week. And from Paris I want to visit Tours one day and come back to Paris on the same day. I hear there is a museum which exibits many works of Da Vinci.Can you tell me the name of the museum,its entrance fee and opening hours? And how can I reach there from the Tours rail station?Is it quite far from the rail station?

Hi. I don't know if there is a Da Vinci museum in Tours.
But in nearby Amboise, there's the house/museum where he lived and died. That's where you need to go.

As far as I know the only Davinci museum around is the one located in the town of Amboise. To get there from Tours you have to take a bus or a train, it's about 30min from Tours. Amboise is a nice town, there's a castle, and Da Vinci former house Clos Lucé where the museum is located.
If you have enough time you should try to get early to Tours and go directly to Amboise, and on your way back spend a couple of hours in Tours before getting to Paris. The Tours visit is "doable" in a couple of hours, I live here and often go around with tourist friends: you can walk around the old town, have a look at the cathedral, and walk along the river, but in a top 4 hours tour it's done I think...

say hello to the Old Chap Leonard of Vinci. Both artist and engineer, Leonard of Vinci was the first specialist of science fiction. He had some ideas in advance on his time : the car, the plane, the helicopter, the tanks.
This is an interesting place to see. The basilica is only one part of an much bigger church. Two more towers can be seen on the other side of the street. Yes, nowadays there's a street running through the old church.
The city of Blois and its castle.
The whole city is worth visiting, you can spend a day or two to visit. The picture is the St-Nicolas church not too far from the castle.

So here's how I spent last summer, living and studying in Tours, France. The majority of these are pictures of pictures already in an album so the quality is crap but you will still have a chance to see what I was up to for a fabulous 2 months! Enjoy...
