Accommodation, shopping, eating.. in Tours
by FinElina
Going to a choir competition to Tours in May. Could someone recommend any accommodation (for about 20 persons)? What kind of prices do they charge in general?
What kind of places is there to eat? Prices?
Can one do any shopping in Tours?
How easy is it to get from Tours to Paris? How long does it take?
To where would be the easiest to fly from Finland?

I assume that you are flying into Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport.
If you look at www.sncf.com you will find rail connections from the airport to Tours on the TGV (High Speed Train)
Cheap accomodation is available at the hostel in the centre of Tours (see www.fuaj.org and search Tours) You will need to book this accomodation very quickly.
Alternatively do a search for "Tours accomodation" or look at the Tourist Office website (see www.maville.fr and enter 'Tours')
Tours is a large, very cultural University city on the nanks of a river. There are many things to do in the city - museums, gallerys, restaurants, shopping etc etc.
All the informationthat you want is easy to find on the net.
There are many VT pages on Tours - just search VT !

Travel Tips for Tours
Aquarium of Turen
by Kuznetsov_Sergey
Aquarium of Turen is the biggest in Europe aquarium of fresh-water fishes.
I visited such a big aquarium for the first time. To tell the truth I chosed an excursion to this aquarium because castles of Loire by this moment had already a little bothered... It was necessary to distract a little from historical and architectural sights. The aquarium gave me such an opportunity.

Place Anatole?
by Sharrie
This is not a tip. It's not a must-see.
It's something I saw which I've no idea what it's all about.
It's something I thought interesting despite not knowing anything.
It's just something I wish to share with anyone who wish to see. That's all.
