Auberge des Chenets,: Cool sleep at Auberge des Chenets.
Cool in terms of temperature for my South East Asian friend, but also cool in the other meanings of that word; a very simple home stay on the right bank of the Semoy river in Tournavaux. The owner was about to leave as we arrived, and he explained us the way to use it: I give you the key of your room (big room, three beds, no risk to turn gay!! Haha), you do what you want, just tell me when you want your breakfast; and the house was ours!! (we were the only customers, but I bet in summer it is full).
Look at the setting of the little village of Tournavaux on the main picture! the view on the river from the room is beautiful, and the room, amenities were simple, but correct. Breakfast was continental style, you may order for eggs, ham or other food seoarately the evening before.
Opposite the home stay is a café-restaurant for a beer or a dinner; the local youth gather there and the juke box plays loud!
Ah, before I forget: there are possibilities to rent canoes, mountain bikes, organise hikes, etc. . . . : enquiries with the owner. I have seen lots of canoes on the river, I can imagine long trips on the river in the deep carved valley of the Semoy.
