Bristol Hotel

Great and fun location

On the busy Place Drouet d'Erlon just a few blocks from the Cathedral and major sightseeing, this is a clean, friendly and reasonably priced hotel. There is Parking Erlon right in front of the door. The parking is underground so all you see is a kiosk on the Place with an elevator inside. The hotel gives you a voucher when you check out so parking is free.

Our room was on the small side but adequate; the bathroom was spotless and the place was quiet. I'm not sure it would be so quiet on the front since the Place was very popular and busy although we ate out there one evening and although very busy, it seemed relatively quiet.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant. You have breakfast there in the morning and we managed at least two meals later in the day while we were there. It was all excellent and was particularly fun to sit outside with a kir and watch the craziness on the Place. It was a very fun neighborhood.

Unique Quality: Close to everything. You can easily walk to historic sights including the cathedral, the Palais du Tau, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Hotel le Vergeur and adjoining market square with Roman ruins. There are also shopping arcades between the cathedral and the hotel and it's fun to wander through . . . and look for souvenirs. I got a couple really nice scarves at one shop.

Reims is a fun city with a lot to do. The Hotel le Bristol is right in the middle of all of it.

The hotel is also a Logis de France and can be accessed and booked through the Logis web site at: http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/

(They have recently changed the Logis de France web site and I find it less user friendly than the old one. We love Logis de France and I highly recommend them but, if available, I'd use the hotel web site.)
