Minibus to Reims

by Shonach

Is it possible to have a minibus pick 7 adults plus luggage up, from Charles De Gaulle Airport to Reims, with the return journey five days later. Any contact details for the above would be helpful.

Re: Minibus to Reims

by Sarastro

It might be simpler and faster to take the TGV to Reims from CDG.

From Terminal 2, the TGV station to Reims is less than 2 hours:

depart: AEROPORT CDG 2 RER
arrive: REIMS GARE

I agree with Sarastro. The train would be easier to arrange and way cheaper. There are some trains from the TGV station in CDG which, with one change, will get you to Reims in an hour total. You wouldn't need to book ahead just turn up at the station when you get to CDG.

Travel Tips for Reims

The Notre-Dame Cathedral

by Luchonda

Your first day in Reims should be dedicated to the visit of "musts" such as the four monuments listed as World Heritage by UNESCO : the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Tau Palace, the Saint-Remi Basilica and the Saint-Remi Museum, the latter named after the bishop who baptized Clovis. Later, you will discover the secrets of the making of the king of wines, and get a taste of it, in one of the many Champagne Houses of Reims.

The altar

by MEdelmann

This is the altar, also built in gothic style. A few minutes before a sun ray came through the window .....

So I wanted to take a picture of it. But the light was dim and the shutter speed to slow to hold the camera by hand. Luckily I had a tripod with me and I put the camera on it. So I could photograph the altar with a smaller aperture and the picture became sharper ....

CAN WE BUY HIM ?????

by eden_teuling about LAFAYETTE

One of LAFAYETTE'S shop-windows offered a very special and nice attraction: a DANCER!

As you can see the window was partly covered with cardboard but while dancing the dancer could remove pieces of cardboard, one after another till we all could see him in the end.

The floor was covered with the finest of white sand and while dancing he used the streams of sand that came from above....

He really was a very gifted dancer and we, the people watching him, enjoyed it very much.
I still can see myself reflected in the window.....

We could hear the music he danced on and in the end the applause was very enthousiastic and showed appreciation and he thanked us for that, standing there in the shop window!

Never ever seen such a thing.......this was an extra on my last they in Reims.....

Champagne Wineries Tour

by Bregman

Being the capital of Champagne province, the city of Reims is full with Champagne wineries. Don't miss a tour in one or more of these wineries. Here you can see how Champagne is made, taste some and, of course, buy some.
Try going to more than one tour as they are not the same. Each winery offer something different. Try to find out in advance which tour is the best for you.

Cathedral inside

by ATLC

I find the interior of the cathedral not as beautiful as the outside. Maybe it's just that I like churches that are not such a big tourist attraction. It does not improve the atmosphere to have so many people walking about, photographing.
For many years in fact, I never did make photographs in churches.
