Relais St-jean

I recently stayed at this lovely little hotel and the owners/people working at the hotel were amazing. They were the friendliest people I have ever met in France and went out of their way to make my stay top notch. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast that was very good. The rooms were very comfortable and the prices were very reasonable. I would say it is a 5 start hotel!

The Relais St Jean is ideally situated in a pedestrian street of the ancient district close to the rue Champeaux. The access by car is by the underground public parking Aristide Briand, rue du Général de Gaulle. A number of places are reserved for the hotel customers and a corridor, decorated with exhibition windows of champagne bottles, leads to the hotel reception.

This parking is very useful especially since nowadays it is risked to leave a car outside at night in the French cities. Although the historic centre of Troyes appeared to be safe it is better to pay 10 € per day rather than to be a victim of theft or, in the worst of the cases, of fire.
As for the hotel it seemed to us, although we had a "luxe" type room, that it is a good 3*** rather than a 4 **** as announced. Our room was rather large; the windows looked onto the roofs of the old town. The air-conditioning was deficient.
The persons at the reception were correct. We had not to complain.

Unique Quality: Good situation with garage.

This hotel has a very good situation in the center of Troyes but service is so ugly, you would'nt appreciate your stay !
Staff does not know the very basic of welcome, decoration is not existing or old fashioned and prices are to high for what you get !
