"Sailing to Bonifacio"
Sooooooo, then, I think this is gonna be my first travelogue, goodness gracious me!!
I helped to deliver a 33 foot boat from Naples to Pauillac (near Bordeaux), the boat actually started the journey in Greece and ended in Wales, but I didn't do the whole journey.
Naples, busy, v.busy, I learnt to cross the road without looking there and look out for pickpockets!!!
"Bye bye Naples"
We took just over 24 hours to reach Bonfiacio from Naples, not bad going, there had just been a load of lightning storms in the area and a couple of boats had gone adrift or missing, or so we could tell from the Italian radio broadcasts.
In all honesty, the marina in Naples was expensive and pretty poor when it came to facilities, we were glad to get out of there, friendly locals though, which was quite surprising, then again, we weren't in the centre.
But we were alright.
"The arrival"
So, we got there eventually, this is the first point we saw whilst entering the strait, its on the Sardinian side though, had to avoid a convoy of naval ships (French and US I think) on the way through, made life interesting for a while, then we saw Corsica...
