St Joan of Arc Festival and the Gare de Rouen Rive Droite
by joshzd1
I have two questions. The first is about Gare de Rouen Rive Droite. I haven't really investigated this deeply but is this Gare the train station that sits to the north of old town Rouen? I found it on a map at the following website, and suspected it was the train station I had read about in other travel forums based on their descriptions of Rouen's layout.

The second question is about the St. Joan of Arc Festival. We'll be in Rouen on May 28th, a Friday, and if I read correctly, we will miss the festival by one day. Is this correct, or will we still get to enjoy at least the start of the festival on the 28th?
Thank you

will tell you everything you need to know about Rouen-Rive-Droite. :-)
It's the main station, to the north of the town. Put 'gare de rouen' into google maps and you'll see exactly where it is.
Can't help with the Joan of Arc thing, sorry.

Thanks again Leice!
Like I said I didn't look too deeply into it. However, I am kind of surprised a train station would have a wiki page. I guess there's more out there than I thought!

Travel Tips for Rouen
Weekend out
by ATLC
Rouen is a great location for a weekend. Everything is walkable, there are many good shops and markets and you can overdose on lovely old architecture. Enjoying the sunshine, sitting outside on a market square, enjoying a cool drink, peoplewatching.
Église Saint Maclou, Perron memorial
by JLBG
The association of the Perron families of America has set on September 10th 1993 this slate that says :
”Homage to Pierre Dugrenier and Marie-Thérèse Grenet, married here on August 9th 1711 and to their son Joseph, married in New-France in 1742, ancestor to the Dugrenier and Dugrenier called Perron of America”*.
P. de Justice, side wall of Salle des Procureurs
by JLBG
The “Salle des Procureurs” (the Prosecutors Hall) was nearly entirely destroyed by 1944 bombings. It took many years to rebuild it. The outer walls have been rebuilt with their own carved stones. Here, one of the side walls, at the bottom of the Salle des Procureurs. It has been rebuilt almost identically with its delicate stone lace on the second level of windows.
Leaving Aître Saint-Maclou
by JLBG
At first, "Aître Saint Maclou" looked avery peaceful and quiet place. As a matter of fact, it IS a quiet and peaceful, it is the calm of Death. If this kind of place gives you the shivers, then don't visit. Otherwise, this is a great place, untouristy and really worth the visit.
in Printemps
by sue_stone about Le Pain Quotidien
If you are shopping around the rue du Gros Horloge area or in the Printemps department store, then I have the café for you!
Located on the 1st (or 2nd) floor of Printemps is a lovely branch of Le Pain Quotidien, a delicious chain of cafés that I first discovered in Lille, who have recently also opened in London.
There is also a small café on the street level, overlooking the Cathedral, though it didn't appear to have all of the same treats on offer. The one in Printemps is a great place for a mid-shop stop, with its display of tasty tarts and pastries tempting you in for a break.
I stopped in for a relaxing pot of tea and a very evil looking caramel tart...no surprise my clothes were too tight on our return from France!
