by torreyphilemon I just want to recommend Seillans, a beautiful village in Provence, which was the home of the painter/sculptor Max Ernst. It is an area of great natural beauty (flowers everywhere in the springtime - I love the sunflowers!) and a great starting point for Provence excursions. If you have a week in Provence, a great and private place to stay too is the villa for rent, Chez Tove en Seillans. They have a web site at http://www.cheztove.com. It's a great retreat for a couple or family. Bretagne by dr.firas With the WC outside and the plastic toilets you won't feel a super comfort for sure, even the showers are with a special button to push time to time to have the water however it was the cheapest, and some times people are obliged to pass time in such hotels! Bretagne by dr.firas F1 is the cheapest accomodation in Rennes, the comercial Abdel knew how to manage his staying, so we shared the same room, I was sleeping upstairs, the fact that the room is small is not the bad thing, the hotel is quite good, TV set, and of course, WC and Bath outside!!!! the bad thing were the one thousand ciggeretts I was smoking * in a passive way* with Mr.Abdel, he smokes like a bomb!!!! Good sized rooms, nicely decorated, with balconies overlooking the sea. Hotel staff speak English. Lobby is tastefully decorated-a good place to hang out and read. Buffet breakfast is an additional cost but worth it. There is underground car parking for an additional fee. Reservation required. The only drawback is the noise from the street below.
Great solarium and jacuzzi on the top floor. The hotel directly fronts the Mediterranean. I could recommend this place because it is situated at the right place. "Vavin" is the name of the suburb. The hôtel is situated close to a metro station and superbe restos. Five minutes away from Saint-Michel et Saint Germain de Prés. The best and oldest restaurant "Le Procop" in St-Michel is in walking distance. La Seine and the Louvre are behind the corner. You have to go and see for yourself.
Nothing special but good. Theme: Bed and BreakfastPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Rue Jules Chaplin à Vavin - ParisDirections: Boulevard de Monparnasse

by Goner This is a convenient hotel if you're flying out the next morning, they have a shuttle that will take you to the airport, and you can have a hearty breakfast before you go. This Ibis was not as plain as some I've staying in, more color in the rooms. Clean and functional.
They also have a dining room for evening meals which is convenient if you're flying out the next day. Also the train stops within walking distance of the hotel. Ibis Hotel Paris by Goner As a budget traveller, my lodgings are of the bed and breakfast variety - none too memorable, however, if you are looking for moderately priced accomodations that are fully equipped and very clean, the Ibis and Mercure Hotels in France are worth a stay. They charge for breakfast but a breakfast there will last until dinner. I really prefer private home bed and breakfast as it is a wonderful way to meet the local people.
If you are looking for lodging you can always check the information office at the train stations or a tourist office which is usually located near a train station. They will also have listings for Ibis chain. Theme: InnComparison: least expensive

Carcassonne Villa by Tayto Last year a group of us hired a villa just outside Carcassonne in the south of France. As you can see from the picture the villa (unfortunately since sold and no longer for rent) was fantastic value. There were 8 of us in total and the villa had 5 bedrooms, a sun terrace at the back, the pool (see photo) etc etc. It is a great way to expereince France and fantastic value. This particular villa was only 5 mins from Carcassonne airport and with Ryan Air flying there it was very cheap to get there. Although this villa is no longer for rent there are many others in the Region and offer fantastic value for groups / families. Carcassonne itself is a nice town with a picturesque castle and old medieval town and a not so nice modern part. The castle and the old town are definitely worth visiting - see additional photos on must see activities.
fantastic - all mod cons, pool, great space, good number of rooms, Theme: OtherComparison: less expensive than average
