Campsite of a high quality; 4* luxury camping; shop, pool, entertainment, very beautiful with a lot of flowers, places for BBQ; directly at the beach (just a short path trough the dunes to the beach); veeeeery long and wide sandy beach; just a few minutes by bike to the village;

I fair hotel in Opera region (rue de Montyon 15). We found this hotel after an awful experience in another hotel some blocks away the day before(alexandrine opera). At that time it was a clean hotel, situated in a street you can rate as a quiet one (considering the region - take the inners rooms). We paid 115 euros, breakfast included. I recommend it for anyone who wants to stay at Opera district.
rooms were small but confortable and clean (2003). Staff were friendly (2003) At short distance from many attractions and Galeries Laffayette and Printemps. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Rue de Montyon 15

Exquisite, small hotel with impeccable service and romantic sea-side setting. No ultra spa or designer shops. Just understated elegance and quiet for relaxation. Did Rod Stewart stop in for lunch at the plage cafe? We'll never tell. The breakfast buffet and menu lunch were without flaw, but the dinner budget may be better spent at one of the many other waterfront restaurants. Upon two visits, once July 2006 and August 2007, equally delightful stays with no complaints. See my Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat travel page for tips in the vacinity of this hotel.
The hotel has two fresh water pools that are emptied and replenished daily. The sunning and swimming veranda is busy, but not crowded in August and less so in July. You can dive nicely from the rocks into the Med without the slow torment of a dip from the beach. Late afternoons sea-gazing, mojito in hand cannot be beat. Very beautiful bed and breakfast in the middle of nowhere... but still conveniently close to Cap Corse, Saint-Florent and the Balagne to go sightseeing or to go to the beaches. The modern house stands on top of a hill amidst the vinyards of Patrimonio. There are 5 cosy rooms, all with their own private bathroom with shower. There is a (not heated) pool and when the weather allows it, breakfast is served on the terrace with an amazing view. The hosts are very friendly and are willing to help you plan your sight seeing trips or the rest of your visit of the beautiful island of Corsica. On most days, the hostess will cook an authentic Corsican meal (table d'hôtes). You should ask in advance. We stayed here in September 2007 and payed 80 euros for a double room, breakfast included. For the meal we payed 22 euros per person (3 course meal, wine included)
+ Amazing view + Swimming pool + Table d'hôtes (home cooked 3 course meal in the evening) - The owners have two (very friendly) dogs who tend to beg for food at your table. This is a very nice bed and breakfast with beautiful large rooms and small modern bathrooms. It is in the town of l'Ospédale which is ideally located between the coast of Porto Vecchio and the mountains near Zonza and the Aiguilles de Bavella (beautiful mountains, perfect for hiking) The hosts speak French and English and are very amiable people, always ready with some (travel or other) advance. There is no 'table d'hôtes' (meaning they only serve breakfast and no lunch or dinner) but they have several good restaurants in the neighbourhood that they can recommend you. We stayed here in September 2007 and payed 65 euro for the double room (mountain side), breakfast included. It was well worth the money. After 20 minutes you arrive in the very small town of l'Ospédale. When the main road makes a 90° turn to the left (in the town), you're almost there. If you're looking for small, friendly, reasonably priced campsites often in stunning locations in France then I can recommend a visit to the Bienvenue à la Ferme website at: http://www.bienvenue-a-la-ferme.com/ The website itself is a bit clunky and quirky but once you've got the hang of it you can locate some terrific campsites all over France. They are almost always on farms and inevitably tend to be smaller in overall size. You would probably need a car because most of the farm sites we've used are tucked away in the countryside. Quite often the farmers go out of their way to make their visitors feel comfortable - we've enjoyed crepes evenings on a pig farm in Brittany; fresh homemade pizzas in the barn on a forestry 'farm' in the Auvergne and BBQ ultra-fresh chicken from a free range poultry farm in Aveyron. Some of the farms have swimming pools and play areas for kids and fortunately none of them have any discos- or at least none of those we've stayed on. I guess the wash blocks are probably not quite as huge and as sparkling as the mega campsites we have known on the Mediterranean but they are nearly always clean and have hot water and adequate washing facilities. Most have washing machines and some have refrigerators. They are also remarkably good value for money. Funnily enough they don't seem very popular with the Brits so it's great to make friends with our fellow Europeans when we stay on these campsites. I used youth hostels for the first time on my most recent trip to France. I can say that every one was clean and comfortable, and in an excellent location. As I was mobile the fact that some of them were out of town was not an issue for me, but I learnt from other travellers that most bus services will try to accommodate you even if it is a little out of their way. For a traveller on a budget it is the only way to go!

Even the Place opened just 2 months before I arrived there, it felt like it has been there for years. Warm, welcoming and like home. It is rare in France, to have a Hostel where the owners and staff are that friendly and nice, giving you the feeling you stay with friends, not in a foreign country in a strange city.
Every room is unique and has a warm touch of colours. All have bathroom and toilet, a lot of space to drop your backpack and move around. It also is a Hotel with private rooms, so couples or travelers who like to have privacy find the write room to relaxe and sleep. Internet is provided (1Euro=1/2 hour), free WIFI, laundry, bar, breakfast for 5 Euro, Satelite TV, a beautiful backyard area to chill out and have a drink, a kitchen, they keep your backpacks in a secure room after check-out and it is for free, a great common room, it is not even a 5 minute walk from the train station, mixed dorms, etc. etc. etc. Short, it is for me in the top 5 in Europe and in the top 10 in the worlds Hostels and Backpackers! I stayed at two hotels while in Paris, however, I can only remember this one, Hotel Chopin. Nice hotel, not expensive, in a good area and certainly worth a look. http://www.hotelbretonnerie.com/chopin.htm Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 10, Blvd, Montmartre (46, passage Jouffroy)
