Hotel de France: Small but clean

This hotel is not actually in the center of Paris but in Boulogne Billancourt. But I am not going to make a page just for the hotel. At least not at the moment.

The hotel is within easy reach of the metro station and the entrance is on the side street. The room was small but clean and the bathroom was spacious and clean.
It had free wifi, a must in these days I would say. And at EUR 47,50 per person per night very good value for money. This area is within the limit of the 3 zone 3 days metro card so we did not mind the extra travel time.

The area was described as office building area but we did not get that feel. Avenue Du Général Leclerc is a street with lots of restuarant, cafe's and shops. There was a supermarket nearby, which was usefull to get croissants and drinks.

Villa Sorel: Un charmant hotel ** au coeur de Boulogne B.

I booked this hotel based on it's geography. It seemed a good choice and was fairly reasonably priced too! It was advertised as having rooms with garden views.

It did have a view, room 43, but it was a vertical view downwards from the window. So a little misleading.

That aside, there was a reasonable breakfast included in the price and the staff were friendly too.

They have been doing work in the hotel to make it better.

A small lift - where 3 people should fit, but only if they are very very thin!

Smoking only permitted in the garden area.

Olympic Hotel: Places to stay near Paris

I stayed here in 2005 and would go back. The facilites were excellent and the staff was friendly. The place is a good value and an excellent alternative to the more expensive places within the city limits of Paris. It is a short walk to the Metro and to restaurants and shops on the Avenue Leclerc. A serviceable command of French will be very helpful here.
