Out in the Boonies, But Very Nice

by TripAdvisor Member MissInform

I stayed here one night to catch an early morning flight and was pleased. The hotel has a regular shuttle that comes every 20 minutes or so, which was great. My room was on the fourth floor, and both room and floor seemed to have been recently remodeled and updated. (I like that the hall lights are motion sensitive, going off when light isn't needed!) My room was large, decorated in warm woods, rich reds, and rust-tones. There were lots of different lighting options from bright to soft, all controlled from a bedside console. The bed was huge and comfortable; I was provided a little table and chair, and the table was already set for morning coffee with china cups, an electric pot, biscuits, and instant coffee, tea, and chocolate milk. The wall opposite the bed held a huge mirror that made me very sad I was traveling alone. The bathroom was a good size, with a retractable clothes line for laundry over the shower and toney complimentary toiletries. My only quibble with the bathroom was that the countertop seemed not to have been wiped off after the last guest, but otherwise everything was very clean. I had dinner in the restaurant; the food was good, the service fine, and the bar poured a liberal vodka tonic. If I had any complaint at all, it would be that the hotel is very remote; the only way to get into town would be to return with the shuttle to the aiport to catch the Roissy bus or train. Unfortunately, I was told the last shuttle returns to the hotel at 11 p.m. In a perfect world, the Radisson would compensate for its remote location by running the airport shuttle 24/7 (or at least once an hour or so during the early morning hours). All in all, I would happily stay there again.

The hotel is 13 years old, and before it was a Quality Inn, 10 last years a Radisson SAS. It was quite difficult for the driver to find the hotel, among warehouses on the opposite side of the airfield and all other hotels around CDG. The room was just so-so, actually the room was taller in size compared to the width. I do not see this hotel as a hotel with Radisson standards. On the nigth I stayed there, the restaurant was open only to a large group staying there, and I was recommended a french restaurant down the road, 5 minutes walk, - it turned out to be 15 min along the warehouses, and the restaurant was closed. getting back to the hotel, I was recommended to go downtown paris which is a 15 min shuttle drive to the airport + 30 min train to paris, - i ended up eating in the airport, in Hippopotamus, terminal 2B, not bad, like Dennys. The shuttle drivers do not speak english. But understand words like 'terminal 1'. I was flying out early in the morning on SAS, and it is not understandable how the recetion of an SAS Radisson hotel at the airport do not know from which terminal SAS flies from. Also they told me that my SAS bonus card had expired, but the dates on the card 02.92 indicates from which date I have been a member.

We stayed here for one night on January 27th 2006 for 100 Euro, including breakfast. Presumably, most people stay here because of its proximity to the airport. The shuttle arrived within 5-10 minutes of our waiting at the shuttle stop at the airport. The ride to the hotel is 10 minutes tops.

Check-in was smooth, the room was warm, inviting and well-stocked. The decor was new, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and a good size with lots of pots of gels, shampoo, soap. Room service was excellent (piping hot food came within about 10 minutes) and the food tasted great, really.

Breakfast could have been good, but we went down at 10 a.m. (said it served till 11 a.m) and the hot foods were cold and the waiters were not replenishing items that had run out.

Check-out was fine - the staff were helpful. Only minor problem though is that one (rude) woman said you could not pre-arrange the shuttle for a specified time, they just seem to come on some unknown 20-mintue schedule. This was contrary to what the in-room guide said that you could book one in advance. Upshot was that there were two shuttles waiting when we checked out so it wasn't a probelm, but I could foresee hassles if you've just missed one and the next one doesn't arrive till 20 minutes later.

Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay if you need a mad dash to or from CDG.

We spent here one night before out flight home. The hotel is comfortable but the price they charge for breakfast is too high - 18 ero each ! And why they charge 11 ero for parking ? They did not mantion it in the hotel details !!

Good for one night

My husband and I spent one night at the Radisson SAS CDG at the end of a cruise, because we had a morning flight out of CDG. The hotel is fine for quick stops, but like most people we stay in Paris when we will be there longer, to be near the sights and get more local flavor. Before the cruise we spent 4 nights at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in the Latin Quarter and 2 nights at Hotel Alimandi Vaticano in Rome and absolutely loved them.
When we arrived at CDG we waited at least 30 minutes with other travelers at the appropriate spot for the hotel shuttle, and as others have said, we saw all the other hotel shuttles come and go several times. Finally we had to call the hotel and were told that they were "having a problem", and the shuttle would be there soon. It did come then, the driver did speak English (although he enjoyed bantering in French/English with me) and he was very polite.
Our room was clean and quiet, but there were a few minor problems. First of all the shower "door" was only a panel that spanned about 1/3 the length of the shower stall -- so it was a challenge to keep water from going all over the bathroom floor. It wasn't a huge problem, but it was the first we had seen like this, and we have stayed in many other European hotels. Also the paint on the ceiling of our bathroom was peeling.
Another minor problem was the amount (or lack thereof) of coffee provided with the in-room coffee maker. I can stand instant coffee for one morning, but there was only one packet of regular instant and one of decaf. Luckily I'm the only coffee-drinker, otherwise we would have been fighting over who got the regular and who got the decaf. There was lots of sugar though (??) and tea.
A huge plus is the large buffet breakfast that was included in the price of our room. It was fantastic, which made up for all the other minor problems.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone who has just one night before a morning flight, otherwise stay in Paris!

Good Location and Price

We stayed at the Radisson for one night in July 2006. We paid 110 Euros. The hotel has shuttle service to and from the CDG airport which is a major plus. Shuttles run every 20-30 minutes. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from from the airport. Our room was nice and the hotel had their own restaurant. We recommend this hotel for people on their first or last day in France. When we were there the pool was closed for maintenance, but they did upgrade our room because there weren't any more rooms available for the price we had booked.
