I worked here !!!
by Maillekeukeul
Years ago, I was an intern at the 28th floor of the shining tower of this building. I stayed in this bank for 6 months and they even proposed me a contract !!! But, working in La Defense, from my point of view, is sharpely synonymous of despair and uniformity (in the metro, from monday to friday, you see that everybody wears the same suit, carries the same attache-case and, over all, prevents himself or herself from smiling) ... No, thanks !!!
An enigmatic piece of wall
by Maillekeukeul
When you walk up the stairs towards the Arch, when coming from Paris, the first thing you see is this strange piece of an overtagged wall ... I don't know if tags have been added by some people living in the neighborhood or if it was originally tagged and meant something... (or maybe it's a part of the Berlin wall, who knows...)
Visiting the Arch of La Defense...
by Maillekeukeul
The area of La Defense is split in eleven parts, that are shared out between 3 different cities, suburban to Paris. The 7th part belongs to the city of Nanterre. It includes the famous Arch of La Defense, inaugurated in 1989 and designed by Peter Rice, Paul Andreu, Johan Otto von Spreckelsen (the latter died in 1987 and never saw his masterpiece of modern art...).
