Nice place

A solid place with friendly people to help on your travels. Good breakfast to begin your journey of the day

Unique Quality: Close to all major sights, near Rivoli and bistros, shops and good nightlife.

BED BUGS BE WARNED!

The hotel was pretty shabby to be honest. My room was tiny, even though I was on my own in a double room. No air con but the bathroom was okay. It was musty and had a dodgy stain on the carpet. The WORST thing was the BED BUGS! Oh yes, I got bitten every night of my trip and managed to bring them home with me and infested my home too! I still have the scars from the bites and this happened over a month ago. The location of this hotel is amazing and had it not have been for the bed bugs I would have said that you should compromise on everything else just for the location. But I cannot reccommend that you stay here at all....it's distgusting and they have a very serious bed bug problem, which if in one room, it is almost certainly in every single room as they infest the place very quickly!

Unique Quality: Location was good

Quiet in Winter

I stayed at Acacias in January 2006. I'm always reminded when I travel to Europe in the off months how deserted the hotels are and how easy it is to get around and also find good deals.

Booked here after reading about on VT. Emailed back next morning, reserved by fax. Easy. Room was small but clean, adequate bathroom, also clean. Location cannot be beat! Excellent location, only three blocks from the river and from there only two more blocks to Notre Dame on Ile de Cite.

Metro stop two blocks. Warm open neighborhood with good selectoin of restaurants and shops. Best of all - location.

My room was on the first floor facing the street and I could see it getting rather noisy at night in the summer when there would be more people on the streets later at night. Quiet enough in January, not silent.

Unique Quality: Location. Hit the ground running from here.

An adequate hotel

This hotel is centrally located but not terribly well run nor particularly well maintained.

That staff is quite friendly and, for me, that overcame a variety of small annoyances. But then I tend to tolerate a lot more in a hotel overseas than I would in an American one.

My room was reasonably sized although the bathroom was a bit small and the shower somewhat difficult to fit into despite the fact I'm a relatively small person.

Unique Quality: The location is excellant and there are an abundance of charming little non-touristy restaurants in the immediate area.

This might not be much of a plus to non-French speaking visitors who are looking for menus in English and wait-staff who are bilingual.

Disappointing Behavior

The Hotel Acacias CANCELED our reservation at the last minute! We had reserved a room 2 months ago and then reconfirmed by Email 1 week before departure. At that time they replied back that they were eagerly awaiting us. However, literally just before leaving for the airport, we received an Email informing us that our reservation had been CANCELED with no other explanation given. If this is the way they treat their customers, I can't believe they are able to stay in business!

central location, great staff

Centrally located in the 4th arrondisement, I spent a few days here and was impressed by the hotel for a variety of reasons. During our trip, my girlfriend had a bought of food poison and stayed in the hotel for a little over a day. The staff checked up on her, brought her tea and made sure she had everything she needed.

Hotel Acacias is a two star hotel and includes baths in the rooms and has rooms that accomodate up to 6 people.

Breakfast is not included but they do serve one for about $8 US. Double rooms are around $90.

The hotel is between the Pompidou and Hotel-de-Ville. Notre-Dame, the Latin Quarter and the Louvre are all within easy walking distance. There is also the Hotel-de-Ville metro stop nearby as well as numerous small places to eat.

Small hotel in great location...but noisy

For 75 euros, this hotel was clean and comfortable but it seemed to be in the gay nightlife area of town and the street below was very noisy. It didnt have air conditioning WHICH IS A MUST DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS! But they did have a fan. the people who worked there were helpful and nice, but they didnt have free breakfast and the breakfast was bunk anyway (for 7 euros! yikes!)

Unique Quality: The best thing about this place was the price and the location. You could walk to many of the major attractions within 10 minutes and the area was safe. It was one block from the Seine river.

Hôtel-de-Ville

Unique Quality: Not too expensive considering it's in the centre. If you want to have the hotel room for sleeping only this is your place. However, the rooms are comfortable enough and have all the needed facilities. The hotel has a small breakfast room.
