My sister and I are actually doing the same thing but we're there for 5 days. Maybe I can pinch some of your ideas as we have no idea what we're going to get up to!

Hi,
I've just booked Paris as well for new year, with my wife and 2 kids age 17 and 12.
We are booked into the Adagio city aparthotel not far from Eiffel tower, so I will be watching the responses with interest

Us too!
I'm hoping there will be fireworks at the Eifel Tower at midningh, no?
I'm also hoping New Years Eve is NOT the crushed drunkfest ala Times Square. Anybody done the same.
PS: Staying in the Latin Quarter.

I was quite disappointed cos as a matter of fact there were no fireworks last year or the year before in new year's. only drunk people looking at the eiffel tower from trocadero (in front of it)...
the only day you can see AWESOME fireworks above the eiffel tower is on july 14th. and it's worth it.
