MOUNTAIN AREAS OF FRANCE by thinking
Paris is all about history, but our free market system concentrates on selling the tourist key chains of the Eiffel tower,medicore food, and uses the former Royal properties for tourism.
It is very important to understand how what happened in Paris hundreds of years ago is still affecting your life.
However, this is never discussed for fear of another "French Revolution".
When I need a break from this saturation of history and culture, I look to the mountain areas of France.
The two most important mountain ranges of France are the Alps and the Pyrenees.
The highest peak is the Mont Blanc 4 808 metres above sea level and is in the Haute Savoie region.
There are 7 principle mountain regions in France
The Alps
Auvergne, Massif Central
Jura..................................................2.5 hours from Paris on the TGV
Morvan
Pyrennes
Vosges............................................soon only 1.5 hours from Paris on the TGV when this line is complete
CorsicaParis taught me, through its history, how Religion and the Royals set the tone and conditions for life for everyone.
Building monuments to their own "glory" prevailed, funded of course, on the backs of the people.
Capitalsim doesn't follow this method.
Instead, it's goal is only profit, and money is used to amass more production so they can gain more profit.
Paris clearly illustrates these two methods, and I am forever grateful to her for that!
