Clean but bad service
We stayed two nights in this hotel. The room was small, but new and very clean.
The breakfast buffet was fun: everything was finished all the time: bread, cheese, cups, coffee. When we finally got a cup, we had to wait for the coffee. But the coffee arrived finally....they brought it in a bucket (im not lying ;)). But I can live with a bad managed breakfast buffet.
Before leaving, we asked if it is possible to leave our luggage (two backpacks) behind for a few hours. It was not possible, according to the lady of the reception there was no room for our bags (which there definitely was). This never happened to me, in 15 years of travelling. Because of this bad and unfriendly service I dont recommend this hotel.

Budget hotel near to Gare du Nord and part of the Campanile chain.
Also walking distance to Metro line Louis Blanc.
Has underground parking although you pay for it.
Unique Quality: None that stand out!

Many Locations Throughout Paris!
This hotel was conveniently located several blocks east of Gare du Nord and Gare de L'est..
The room, included two full/queen sized beds, a chest of drawers and bathroom. The room was very small, clean and satisfactory. I liked the Paris roof top view from the window and below I could see the small garden courtyard downstairs, which was closed in January.
A small bar/lounge off the lobby opened nightly. Drinks were served during the day only upon request. The dining room closed between mealtimes.
They offer smoking and non-smoking rooms and the service was satisfactory.
My daughter-in-law and granddaugher stayed at this hotel, (I stayed with friends) and they were quite pleased with it.
Unique Quality: There is a chain of Hotel Campaniles in different areas throughout Paris to choose from. Though this was a fairly modern hotel, it still had a charm that I liked.
My daughter-in-law told me that they paid about 2.000,00 Belgian Franks for one night--which at the time translated to about $62.00 US dollars.
The room was booked from Belgium so that might explain the low cost. In any case I believe that the price was very reasonable.

budget stay at Paris
Hey friends, please give me some suggestion on budget accomodation in Paris. I know that's an expensive destination but still any idea about cheaper accomodation/hostel etc. is required. I am a single female traveller and am just looking for a place to rest at night, no headache about facilities. It is preferable if the accomodation is close to the city centre. Thanks in advance.

You might look into the "Hotel Campanile Gare Du Nord" It is a chain type hotel, but the prices were much lower than average in the area. I tell more about it on my Paris page if you'd like to check it out.
This hotel is in the city, close to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est and a Metro station, so you can can get to any place in the city quickly.

If you want to be in central Paris, a single (no ensuite) in a decent 1-star hotel will set you back between €35 and €45 a night.
