Carry Your Hotel's Calling Card by CALSF
One piece of helpful advice that I can suggest is either to print out the name and address of your Paris hotel or write it down. When you arrive at your hotel ask for a calling card also. The reason for doing this is because you may need to give your hotel's name to a taxi driver for example. It's alot easier than trying to pronounce names if you're like me who isn't fluent in French. And surely you don't want to have what happened to my aunt and me. Dog tired we found a taxi stand a few blocks away from the Louvre. I did not have the Verneuil's calling card nor did I have its address on my person. I ended up having to give the driver the information verbally. Well, the driver thought I said 'Hotel Vernet' based on how I pronounced 'Hotel Verneuil'. He was set to drive us all the way to the 8th district to the 4* Vernet. I would not have minded the drive had we actually been staying there! And the driver mildly scolded me for my bad pronounciation. After that I walked with the hotel's calling card!
