    Awful experience all round. AVOID!

    by

My short stay at CISP has been probably the worst experience in a hostel I have ever had; the staff are just plain uninterested in their clients, the WiFi is really weak and in reception only in 2hr time slots (and you are not allowed to Skype!), beds are super slim and hard. Breakfast was pathetic, complete with heavily watered down juice, (plus more poor service, of course!) rooms are NOTHING like the pictures, no plugs in sinks, etc etc.

I booked for 7 nights, but left after 2 because of the conditions, and they refused to give me refund on the other 5 days!! Just plain shocking all round.

Directions: South East of the City.

    Great/Cheap Hostel in Paris

    by

There are two CISP's in Paris that I know of Kellerman and Maurice Ravel. I made my booking with the guy at Kellerman to stay at Ravel because Kellerman didn't have space for my entire visit. I stayed in a single room most of the nights but was in a dorm for one night as they were prebooked in the singles. The dorm was nice 5 beds and a shower. The w.c. was shared in the hallway. The room is spacious but no bunkbeds so it seemed to lack any privacy that a bunkbed offers (just my opinion).

The single room was great, you get a desk and a window and your own bathroom. The bathroom is small and really serves the purpose well in the end.

Unique Quality: The breakfast is great and is included. You get croissants, bread, ham, cheese, cereal, juice, hot chocolate, te, milk.....It is really filling and of course the ham, cheese, and bread are great.

Everything about the place is really nice and well cared for. There is self service laundry (5.50 for wash/dry and soap).

The neighborhood is quiet and you are close to nice restaurants, two cyber cafes are nearby, a call shop, supermarkets and a couple blocks from the subway and one block from the bus.

The dorm cost 22 per night and the single cost me 32 per night.

Directions: From Porte de Vincennes stop go east on Cours de Vincennes 1 block to the intersection and take a rt. on Boul. Soult. Go 1 block and take a left on Ave de St. Mande and take the 1st right on Ave Maurice Ravel. The CISP is one block on the left hand side.
