An upscale yet affordable hotel

I have stayed at the Chateau Frontenac many times and it is very chic and convenient for les Champs Elysees and the Canadian Embassy. It is situated in the 8ieme arondissement and is kitty corner to Le Georges V, a much more expensive hotel. I highly recommend Le Chateau Frontenac for travellers who can afford it's 200 Euros plus rack rate.

Choice of 3 different hotels near Champs Elysees

by lemonpie

Hello VT Friends -
I have narrowed down my search for a hotel to my taste and want any thoughts you may have. Here are the 3....please let me know if you have stayed in any of them (and feedback) and also what you think of the location. Thanks very much.

Just like I like your tag name Lemonpie, I like the sound of Chateau Frontenac. Eventhough I never stayed there I had to look it up and saw the four stars and the great location, so it would be my chioce. Being within the main intersections and the four stars carry a lot of weight in my book. In France, they take their stars seriously and so I think you will not be disappointed. Cheers Tomm x

The area is lovely and so are the hotel web sites. The only outstanding feature was that the Hotel Francois 1er is nearest a Metro stop. It's about a block from the George V metro stop and that is on line 1, a great Metro line for sightseeing in Paris. Don't know if that is a concern. All of them are within walking distance of many of the major tourist sights in Paris so you may not even need the Metro.

Have you checked reviews on http://www.tripadvisor.com ? That is always a good idea no matter how many stars.

Good luck; you have great choices. Enjoy Paris.

I stayed in the hotel Chateau Frontenac Paris. It was an amazing experience! Everything is SO frenchy, from the staff that are truly professional and polite, to the room that hasr the typical french style. You totally feel at the time of Marie Antoinette!
For the location, don't need to worry, it's in the golden triangle, wich is the BEST part of Paris for its fashion shops, exclusive restaurants and numerous cafes!! I highly recommend it, for myself I will totally go back.

Hope it helped you.
