Train Travel From Paris To Toulouse

by rabbit2304

Can anyone tell me if the SNCF train stops before Toulouse and if so, where?

Thanks

Have a look at the departure you want on:

http://www.bahn.com/i/view/overseas/en/index.shtml

(in English). Click the grey arrow on the left of each departure and you will get the option to show a list of all the intermediate stops.

Which train are you talking about? "Paris to Toulouse" is not enough of an answer, as the bahn website (it's German, but easier to use than the French one) gives multiple routings (most not direct) and multiple types of trains...

Oh, and which station in Toulouse are you referring to? Toulouse-Matabiau? (I assume that this is the main station, but I'm not positive...)

Yes, Toulouse-Matabieu is the station in the city centre.

Bahn.de carries data for almost all European trains and is entirely reliable. The only disadvantage is that it does not carry fares other than for/from Germany. for those, one must look at the individual country's website. Google the country name + 'railway'.

All have English pages and, in most cases, give fares in English as well (those which do not have very reasonably-priced fares).

But in the case of France, it is best to look for fares on the French language website. If you choose the English version, you are taken to Raileurope which is a ticketing agency, not a train operator. It does not list all departures and charges commission on fares.

But the French language SNCF website is easy to work out:

Some go via Bordeaux, some go via Valence and some go sort of down the middle.

This web site gives you links to all the lines so you can see what cities may have stops. Not all trips will have all stops.

We recently took the train from Paris Montparnasse to Toulouse and our train stopped in Angouleme, Bordeaux, Agen, Montauban and Toulouse.

A strange question.

Almost all the trains using the main route to Toulouse stop in Bordeaux, but given there are fifteen trains on the normal weekday it's pretty well impossible to answer here.

Some trains are non-stop to Bordeaux then stop at Agen, sometimes Montauban sometimes both. Between Paris and Bordeaux the stopping pattern for those trains that are not non-stop varies considerably. Some stop at Poitiers, one at Futuroscope, some at Angouleme...the list goes on.

Street Performances Everywhere

by dixonchan

There are untapped talents out there! Streets performances can be found everywhere. Outside Centre Pompidou(see pic), at the top of Sacre Coeur, in the trains and train station.

If you are impressed by them, do give them some rewards. There's this performance by 3 tibetians with amazing chanting voices. I was captivated by their performance.

From 7e to 4e: A metro ride through history

by shrimp56

History is in every arrondissement in Paris, but only on metro line 8 can you travel between the French Revolution and Napoleon's tomb in one easy swoop!
.
You will find the monument in Place Bastille at the Bastille station and Invalides at La Tour Maubourg station.

Packing List

by Ricardo_J_M

Travel light. Large bags are a pain when you arrive and decide to take the metro to your hotel. We went in winter and froze our butts off. Then again we are from Texas so it doesn't have to drop to low for us to be cold. My wife teaches cosmetology....Hair is important to her so if you must bring rollers and curling irons and other such things make sure you have a converter. Same thing as toiletries...if you need to plug anything up bring a converter.
