The Opéra is partly financed by the State in order to present gorgeous shows. There are no savings on the scenery or on the dress and the plays run for a short time.
There is a large range of prices (10 to 150 euros) according to the place in the hall.
Pay attention : for 10 euros, you can listen to the music but you see few of the performance.
The Opera can be visited ( free tour) for 6 euros (open 10AM - 5 PM).I had the advantage to visit indoor. The stage is as long as the hall (50 m) but you cannot see that excepted if you attend a ballet. The basement is 20 meters under the soil, at the underground water level and it remains some basins in which, according a rumor, trouts are grown up.
According to a legend, there are on the roof some beeheeves which produce honey given initially to the singers to help us to keep their voice .
During my visit, the huge lustre was down to have its annual cleaning.
Have a glimpse on it, it is marvellous. The ceiling is original.
