getting to the airport

by happytotravel

Hi..I need to get to the airport for early flights (7:00) and have heard many bad stories about taxis not turning up etc. Any advice on the best way to get to Charles de gulle..leaving really early morning?

Do please give us where you want to start from. Also at what time does your flight leave?

I will be leaving an apartment on a tuesday. The apartment is in Rue De Seine. The flight leaves at 7:15am.

Hi. We often get stuck with that early morning flight and we take a shuttle. We use Paris Blue Shuttle and we have never had a problem with them. Nothing in life is guaranteed, but they are very reliable. Here's the web site: http://www.paris-blue-airport-shuttle.fr/order_en.php

Good luck and enjoy your trip.

these people are pretty good - english drivers and always turn up www.paris-city-line.com

I suspect all the Paris shuttle services have English-speaking drivers. Ours have all spoken adequate English. Even if they don't, just show them your airline ticket and they'll take you to the proper terminal.

You could type the name of the shuttle services you are considering into your Search Window and see if you can find reviews. That would give you several opinions to think about.

You'll be fine; we haven't missed a plane yet but I sure do hate those early morning flights. LOL

Bastille Day, 14 July in Paris 2008

Here's a special dinner on a premier location to see the fireworks of 14-7-2008 at the foot of the Eiffel tower:

There will be music at the Jardins du Trocadéro and the fireworks of course:

Various festivities in the "banlieu's" (outer neighbourhoods):
Fireman's balls (fetes des pompiers) in all Paris fire stations, and other festivities on the eve of 14 July (meaning 13 July). Admission free.

In general I'd keep an eye on this website: http://www.14-juillet.cityvox.com/ or click here

Samothrace - another lesson in disappointment

by bakpakchik

The Winged Victory of Samothrace followed in the footsteps of the Mona Lisa. By the end of this day, i had decided that I liekd my painting unpretentious and my sculptures in a real setting. Glasses canvasses and museumed sculptures didnt do it for me.

By night and day

by IIGUANA

The Eiffel Tower must be visited twice, by day and by night. Paris changes completely once the sun goes down, so you'll have a totally different view of the city. At day, the queue to go up can be quite long, but during the night, it'll won't be a problem. Just be sure to have patience to go down, as the queue this time will be at the top.

Moving for some months from your paradise

by nygaston

Do not take too much,
it's heavy and you have only 2 hands Take the best and the nicest.
you may buy stuff, in your new location if necessary There is everything in France and it's quite cheap or reasonable for good quality Buy in Canada or US it's better and cheaper with Tax refund, sometimes. PARIS Seine Boulogne and South of France, nice locations if the weather is nice too. if you carry Laptop, electronics, put all the accesories and cables together in the same bag. if not, you may lost them or loose time to find the small cable. Make a list of you main things with number of boxes, where they are.
