Great Budget Hotel in Paris
by srd130 about Hotel Du Brabant
This hotel represents great value. It is run by a friendly Moroccan family. They speak French and Arabic fluently, and a decent amount of English.
It is a 1 star hotel and is priced at about 30 euros per night for a single. The hotel is clean, the rooms are large, and the neighborhood is great. I thought upon arrival that a place this cheap (it may be expensive depending where you are from, but for Paris its very low priced) would be in a sketchy neighborhood. Actually the neighborhood is probably above average for Paris and of course is a short walk away to the nearest Metro station.
When I am in Paris again, I will definitely stay at this place - you can't beat the price.

Decent cheap hotel near Gare du Nord?
by adelinemmc
Hi all
I need to stay within max 10 minutes walk to Gare du Nord on a Sunday night in Early October as I have a very early Eurostar to catch.
I have researched hotels a bit and they all seems quite pricey or real horrid
dives. Any recommendation for a cheap, clean hotel? I's like something in the 55/65 euros range (for a double room with shower+WC)-70 euros, absolute max.
I'm not after luxury and can cope with 50's style decoration and old furniture as long as the room is clean & the staff not rude (not asking for extra nice either, just not rude!)
Any idea? I have already eliminated Hotel du Brabant & hotel Picardy.
Thank you in advance.

I stayed in a hotel that was about a 12 minute walk from the station, nice, inexpenisve, but I guess that this hotel is outside of your 10 minute paramiter.

Hi
Can you give teh name anyway & I'll check where it is. I'd rather walk 2 more minutes than end in a smelly flea-infested place right next to the station! ;-)
