Good location, clean place to rest
by geetamallya
Its a clean and neat place to stay, compact rooms. Mini bar is available but who uses them on short touristy trips anyways. While booking if you are paying for breakfast seperately, don't bother booking for the buffet breakfast. Nothing fancy. You are better off paying individually for items you will than paying for something you won't . For us it came free.
Location is a major plus for this, close to major toursit place. There is a petit marche next to the hotel if you want to buy some fruits etc.
If your main aim is to be out of hotel doing sight seeing, then this is a good place. Go without much expectations and you will be content.

its a small hotel, but i found the staff nice and easy to talk to my french is not great but they were able to tell me how to get every where, it is walking distance from everything
Unique Quality: the food in the small dining room was good, there a market close by and a atm on the corner
taxi and bakery close also and on tuesday a open market down about two blocks. 10 min walk to eiffel tower and river. safe at night

Parisian charm in a great location
by LillyOnTheMove
As long as you understand that most European hotel rooms are the size of postage stamps, you should be okay in this hotel. This hotel is very charming, and has a very Parisian decor inside the rooms. High speed wireless is available in the rooms for a fee, but I simply used the desktop they have available in the lobby.
Unique Quality: The staff is multi-lingual, and very knowledgeable about the city. There are two Metro stops nearby on Rue Hamelin, and the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe are within walking distance.
Directions: 16th Arrondisement, just blocks away from the Arc de Triomphe

A beautiful Paris experience
by petdec
My partner and I stayed here about two years ago. I have to say, what a wondeful experience. From the moment we opened our balcony doors and saw The Eiffle Tower just to our left and so closeit was perfect. The room was small but very French and just what we were looking for.We have spent our working lives travelling and staying in Large, characterless, modern boxes/suites,that are called ist class hotels. Now we are retired, we try to find something a little more of the area.
The staff were wonderful,The breakfast was great too .To us this was a real find. Very close to the Champs Elysees, and the Arcde Triomphe. Highly recommend to anyone who doesn't want a big chain hotel.
Unique Quality: Fabulous views,Great service. friendly staff.
Directions: Just off Avenue Kleber, Arrondissement 16

Alovely boutique Hotel, situated just minutes from the Arc de Triomph.Great service, polite staff.lovely room.good breakfast.
Would recommend highly.
Very reasonably priced.
Unique Quality: When I opened the balcony doors of my room,
I looked to the right and saw the Arc de Triomphe, looked to the left and saw the Eiffel Tower.
The breakfast waitress was great and the service was also great. The staff were very friendly .I only had one French phrase which I had practised to perfection and when I used it they were all so very charming and helpful.
Directions: near the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees, within walkin distance of the Seine.
More about Elysees Union Hotel
Friendly
by TripAdvisor Member ReindeerCassilda
I'm Portuguese and I stayed in Elysees Union in March 2006 with my boyfriend. The hotel is, generally, friendly: a bit old, showned in the not so good conditions of the furniture, our room was very small, but it was clean and the employees were helpfull (except one at breakfast...).
The best thing about this hotel is its location: near the Tour Eiffel and Arc du Triomphe, you could walk to both. And has good view from the windows: Tour Eiffel.
Ask For A Big Room
by A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed here with my girlfriend for 4 nights in March 06. We were initially put in a double room that had a view of the Eiffel Tower but it was very very small so we requested to be put in a larger room, the staff were very helpful (Victor & Pierre) and we were moved into a much larger double with a walk in wardrobe, so if you book make sure you specify a large room, preferably one in the court yard. The first room we had, had a broken shower and the 2nd one had no light in the toilet, this was fixed however it is little things that make the trip. The location is the Hotels best assest it is 300yds to arc d'triumph and 5 min walk to champs avenue, and 10 mins to eiffel tower. There are not that many restaurants in the proximity of the hotel they are more like cafes and bistros, when we went to notre dame district we found there was a lot more choice here. The breakfast which is included in the price is only a continental (coffee & croissants) any hot food is an extra price (6 euros for an omlette). Staff were helpful and to be honest you dont spend that much time in your room anyway so it is nice enough for a small break, may i re-itterate my previous words, make sure you ask for a large room rather than one with a view of the tower. Finally the metro and RER train lines are very easy to use we went on them every day to go to Disneyland and all over Paris and to the airport- Make sure you ask for an all day ticket these are only 5 euros and can take you everywhere rather than paying for single trip tickets.
