Paris Tip
I got up one morning and walked to the bridge on the back side of the Notre Dame and watched the sun come up over Paris and the river Seine. It was one of those red/gold sunrises and I thanked God for the start of a new day.

hi there...i want a cheap but clean and nice small hotel at paris at 21/5 -25/5
will i find something?and can someone make me a 3 day plan so i see what is worth at paris...thank you
Look at www.venere.com and www.booking.com for hotels: both are reliabe sites and both have honest guest reviews.
Paris is expensive and extremely tourist-popular so do not expect to find anything central and 'cheap' (same as Athens).
You might also look at www.hostelworld.com and www.hostelbookers.com Hostels are cheaper than hotels, especially if you are happy to share a room (although some do have spearate rooms as well).
thank you very much...can i have a 3 day schedule also
What are you interested in?
I would include Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Montmartre district, the eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and a trip to Versailles...but the other things would depend on my personal interests.
Why not have a look at the Vt Paris pages for ideas?
There are some useful 'themed' ideas here;
http://www.originalstay.com/paris/tourism-and-travel-guide.php?lang=en
and Frommers has suggested 1, 2 and 3 day itineraries here:

A fellow VT'er recommended this hotel "Hotel Marignan" it is central inexpensive..
3 days you will be busy.. if you are going to the Louvre.. research on line what you want to see it is overwhelming if you don't have a plan.
My favourites
Musee Dorsay... open sunny and over all Fantastic!!
Notre Dame
St Eustache
St Chappelle(sp)
Walk around the Pyramid
Walk through the Tuilleries
The Batobus... 12 Euros all day on and off every spot you would want to go and is on the Seine...The Eiffel tower from the water is amazing...
Walk Walk Walk.. look up and around not straight ahead...
Enjoy & have comfy shoes... and lots of memory on your camera ha ha..
Any price range on "cheap"? We stayed at Hotel Moliere: info@hotel-moliere.fr We paid about 145 euros but it was just 2 blocks away from Palais Royal Metro and very quiet. Also, check Hotel Therese @ www.hoteltherese.com These are clean and small places to stay.
I suggest you to stay at the Louvre Forum Hotel. It's located near Louvre Museum and it's not expensive.

We were incredibly lucky to have found a wonderful VT'er whom we met in Paris and made our trip so much more enjoyable. It makes all our lives just a little richer to host and be hosted by such wonderful, incredibly kind people. When you come to Connecticut, please 'stop by.'
The Place de la Republique is one of the main Paris landmarks because it is on the route between the East and the North West of Paris.
The hotels nearby say 1/ the Place is in the center. It is false.
2/ The Place is close to everywhere in Paris. It is not completly true but several metro lines pass by the Place de la Republique. Nonetheless, the line 1 and the RER (fast metro) do not pass there.
3/ The Place is safe. I have never been attacked there but there are a lot of beggars and gangmen who stand there and I feel unsafe, especially when I pass on the Southern sidewalk (near the restaurants (Mc Do, KFC, Quick, Buffalo Grill, Bistro Romain).
The monument (the statue of the Republique) erected in the middle of the Place, in 1884, is not a master piece.
I am sorry to disappoint the tourists who has booked a room in the huge Holiday Inn which is on the Northern sidewalk. Find an other place to stay.
This always generates a lot of discussion, but I always say the French people are extremely friendly and helpful. Most of them can speak English and will do so, wholeheartedly. They're usually smiley and very polite, whether you're dealing with shop assistants or regular people in the streets. I did notice, however, that they behave a little differently when dealing with North Americans, but I guess a Bonjour followed by a I can't speak French must solve the problem.
It`s not a must...but if you have some spare time then you should go to Pere Lachaise Cemetary.
Alot of well known people are buried here including the famous Parisian singer
Edith Piaf , Jim Morrison lead singer of 'The Doors' & Oscar Wilde, Irish writer
Getting there:
Métro : Gambetta, Père Lachaise, Phillipe Auguste
Main entrance: boulevard de Menilmontant
