Cheap hotels do exist in Paris
I read an article in Atlantic the other day saying you can't get a hotel room in Paris for under 500 euros. That is insane. You can get a nice room under 100 euros in good central areas. You have to do your research but it is possible. Booking early is a help because these places are popular.
Here's a list of hotels in Paris under 100 euros for a double room that I put together doing research for our many visits to Paris. We've stayed in several and others have been recommended on Virtual Tourist or Trip Advisor. They are arranged with the least expensive first. Be sure to check reviews on a separate web site before booking.
