Lunchtime at Paris
by amortizor
The restaurant at Musee d'Orsay has been mentioned and it is a good selection as it has nice ambiance. Another museum area choice would be the Cafe Marly at the outside of the Louvre. Lots of people watching as folks que up for entrance to the museum. Perhaps another alternative on a comfortable sunny day: find a Monoprix store - buy a baguette, chesse, cold cuts, and beverage and then proceed to the La Seine. Fondest memory is a toss up of the meal my wife and I had at La Tour d'Argent or the mystical experience of the late night mass at Notre Dame on Easter. The thing that I miss most is just walking aimlessly around Paris and stopping for the occasional expresso or other beverage and watching Paris go by.

Za one koji vole vidjeti kako se Pariz gradi za 21.stoljeæe treba otici na La Defense, gdje se nalazi Gran Arche de La Defense i kino (u kupoli) s najvecim polukruznim ekranom na svijetu. Pozeljno tamo ici navecer!
Disneyland Park
by Jenniflower
It's every child's dream to go to Disneyland. Mine became a reality as an adult and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
It is made up of Walt Disney Studios, Disneyland Park, Disney Village, Disney Golf and various hotels. We went for a day trip on the train from Paris, and spent most of the day in the Park and spent a couple of hours in the Studios. The rides were by far the best things to do here. The food is good, as are the other attractions, but as we are ride fundis, those are what we enjoyed the most!
We would definately go again, and would advise keeping one day for the Studios and one for the Park. Get into the queues for the rides as early as you ca, and get a Fast Pass if you can - you pay a bit more but you dont have to stand in terribly long queses that take up alot of your time. This is definately the better option for those with children!
Party on with the firemen
by Dee22
The Bastille Day is more than a parade down Champs-Elyses on July 14. The night before (July 13) and on the Bastille Day itself, the firemen of each arrondissement of Paris are hosts of each of their 'bal des pompiers' (Firemens ball) which often includes live music and partying in the streets. This summer, 2006, I was lucky to be able to experience this great tradition as I came by Place de la Contrescarpe in the 5th arrondissement, and enjoyed a great live band with a lot of other people who were drinking and enjoying the warm summernight. If you're in Paris on the 13th of July, I recommend you to go to Place de la Contrescarpe in the evening, as it's surrounded by cozy cafés and located just a few minutes walk from a ton of lively bars and pubs. Enjoy!
L'Accordeoniste
by shrimp56
We were walking along the quai passing under Pont des Arts when we heard the unmistakable sounds of l'accordeoniste -- I was able to snap this picture quickly as my companions were forging ahead in search of food! Shades of Edith Piaf!
