Good choice

We chose this hotel from our holiday brochure based on other reviews by Trip Advisor posters. The reviews proved to be very accurate. An excellent location, being just 2 minutes away from St Michel Metro/RER station and 5 minutes from Notre Dame. We used RER line B direct from the airport. The Hotel is modernly furnished and decorated. We were given an excellent room on the 3rd floor. The bathroom was superb – good bath and shower, nicely tiled and immaculately clean. Our room had a double and single bed, the bed linen was beautifully crisp and white. We also had a view of the Seine at an angle.
The double glazing was very effective and cut out the majority of noise (not sirens!) – the only time we found noise to be a real problem was on late Friday evening and I also found it difficult to sleep once the road cleaners began work early in the morning. However, this was a small price to pay for such a well located hotel. The surrounding streets had a vast choice of restaurants and cafés. My husband was particularly drawn to the creperie next to the Hotel Reception. He couldn’t resist the ‘Nutella’ crepes.
Breakfast in the hotel was good, a choice of croissants, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, bread rolls, cheese, ham, boiled eggs and tea, coffee etc. The staff were always helpful, friendly and polite and spoke English if needed.
The only time I felt let down, and it seems almost petty to mention it, but once we’d used up the 2 little bottles of bubble bath and the shoe cleaner sponges (a necessity) provided in our room on arrival, they were not replaced – we were there 5 nights.
Not wishing to end on a negative, I can positively say – a good choice of hotel for first timers to Paris.
Albe is a winner

Three of us stayed here over new year 2005/06 and were very pleased. We had a corner room which was quite small but had three sets of french windows overlooking the latin quarter. I could see the Seine from my bed!
Its not a fancy hotel, but for a very satisfactory, simple, clean & courteous place to stay within this price range, look no further. The bathroom was good, there's a safe in the room, double glazing keeps the noise down despite being right in the thick of the rowdy quarter. Oh, and there's a great bakery downstairs for lazy morning pastries.
tres bien!

I stayed here a weekend and the hotel is absolutely good! At first the location: very nice, just 'round the corner of the Notre Dame and the Louvre, rue de Rivoli, Centre Pompidu just in walking distance. In the streets around the hotel there are many cheap little restaurants. The metro is just a few steps away.
Then hotel itself: nice rooms (for a 3 star hotel it's just good) and a spacious bathroom wich is also clean. Every day enough clean towels. From our window we could see the Notre Dame. The rooms are quit, they're well isolated, I haven't heard anything from outside the room. The beds are also good.
The staff is very friendly. There's a little breakfast room with a good breakfastbuffet.
I would stay here again without a doubt! Enjoy Paris!

Stayed here for 2 weeks for business. It's a great location - food is available in the restaurants 24/7 - and most of it is cheap, though not much French cuisine. It's extremely close to the St. Michel/Notre Dame metro stop (and RER) as well as within walking distance to many, many museums and sights. For those US travelers who are looking for a place to stay for an extended period of time, this is a great choice. It's not the most "French" place that you'll stay, but it has a lot of comforts that a US hotel would have - along with a great added bonus: heated racks for your towels! Wireless internet is easy to access and fast as well.
What's not to love about Hotel D'Albe?

Our room was spotlessly clean and quite comfortable. Nice little amenities such as a heated towel rack, minibar and terrace. Room, small by American standards (as are virtually all European hotels), is well-configured so there is plenty of space to move around and store belongings. Staff was unfailingly polite. The neighborhood can't be beat for great location to everything. The Metro/RER stop is right on the corner. The best part is the incredible boulangerie (bakery) right underneath the hotel -- delicious pastries and coffee for breakfast, and crepes for late-night munchies.
If I'm forced to say anything negative...the neighborhood is a bit noisy at night (but fun), although we couldn't hear anything with the windows closed. The walls are a bit thin as well, so you will know when your neighbors are awake.
This hotel is a gem and we can't wait to return.
