I usually stay at 5-star Marriott hotels on the right bank because I can stay free using my Marriott points. But if I could exchange my luxurious 5-star reservation for the 3-star accommodations at Les Grands Hommes, I would. The place is quaint and friendly where the staff knows all the guests and greet you by name when you come an go. Directly across the street from the Pantheon, it is clean and comfortable and convenient to all of the things to see. No room service, no internet, the dining room is marginal for breakfast, the elevator is tiny and slow, the rooms are small---so what! It just feels good staying here.
If you ask for a six floor room with a balcony, and if you are lucky enough to get one, you will be rewarded with a top floor room with exposed beam ceilings and a nice little balcony that overlooks the square in front of the Pantheon. It is a great place to have cheese and wine and watch the world go by below. Theme: HotelComparison: about averageDirections: Left bank near the Sorbonne and the Pantheon
