More about Hotel Le Six

Enjoyed le Six

by TripAdvisor Member dghk

My wife and I stayed at Hotel le Six October last year. It was her first trip to Paris so great effort was made (in terms or research) to select the best property for our budget. We settled on Le Six based on it's central location, their Trip Advisor reviews and images of the property.

Overall we were very happy with our choice. Before we arrived I contacted the hotel to make enquiries/ special arrangements and was pleased by the attentive responses from Nicolas at the front desk.

On arrival we found that our room (one of the back ones looking into the courtyard) did not have a bathtub (which I was expecting and required) so we were graciously upgraded to a street view room with bathtub. The room was well-presented, clean, spacious (enough room to open two large suitcases and move around comfortably) and had a great bathroom. From what I have read of many properties throughout Europe these last two items are big selling points.

Throughout our stay the front desk staff were always welcoming and willing to provide local recommendations. We found the location to be very convenient (both in terms of walking throughout Paris and taking the metro or Open top tour buses) although it is actually slightly closer to Montparnasse then the more up-market St-Germain neighbourhood. That said, there are some very quaint shops, restaurants and Patisseries in the area (heading towards Jardin de Luxembourg) where we had breakfast each morning.

Overall I would rate our experience quite highly, although to be fair this was compounded by the fact that we were upgraded (if you can afford it pay for the street front/ larger rooms) and we managed to secure a good rate of Euro 225/ night by traveling in the 'fringe' period, shopping around and contacting the hotel directly. Bon chance!

Contemporary with style and charm

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Le Six and were impressed overall with the hotel. The rooms are roomy with modern chic decor in warm colors, all the furnishings and bathroom fixtures are high quality and well designed. Wood floors are a nice alternative to carpet and make the rooms seem fresh and clean. The hotel is newly refurbished, immaculately clean, and the staff is friendly, helpful and professional. There is a comfortable breakfast room, a beautiful spa, and welcoming lobby and bar. Good location, close to Metro and restaurants. Would highly recommend the hotel for either business or leisure.

Stylish hotel in the 6th district

by TripAdvisor Member mawerick81

I have recently stayed in the hotel with my girlfriend and were pleasantly surprised by the hotel.
If you look for some place stylish and exceptionel Le Six is for you.
Room was clean and accommodating and the bathroom is just perfect.
The staff were very helpful and nice and always gave good recommendations on restaurants nearby.
We contacted the hotel directly and got reasonable rate so I do not understand the other reviews about the price.
We definatelly will return.

Great bed and shower!

by TripAdvisor Member cdon

Myself and my husband stayed here for 2 nights last week. We had actually booked into their sister hotel the Relais St Jacques but were moved. Our room was very small but did have everything you would need. The bed was fantasticly comfortable and the shower was really amazing. I know hotel rooms in Paris are small but the price of this room was €375 per night not including breakfast! If we had paid that rate i would not have been happy (paid the sister hotels rate, €200 cheaper).

Make sure you put a do not disturb sign on your door as we were woken very early the first morning by the cleaner opening the door! Then knocking a half hour later.....

The bar downstairs is lovely and they serve a great range of cocktails. We did not have breakfast.

I would not go back to this hotel as i think its overpriced for what you get but it was nice experience to stay in a boutique hotel in Paris and you are very central for the metro.

lovley place

This is not a cheap hotel, but if you have the dosh to give yourself a little treat, you will certainly feel treated very well. From beginning to end the staff were attentive, but not obtrusive, and the room was glorious. You're right in the heart of Paris and everything is at your feet.

Warmest welcome in sub zero weather

by TripAdvisor Member CaroRich

Fantastic location, easy walking distance from Vavin metro line which is direct to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar, and easy walking to wonderful shops of St Germain and the river. Despite the freezing weather, the hotel couldn't have given us a warmer welcome. The two-for-one breakfast deal was well worth while, although you could easily go out for breakfast to a one of the lovely brasseries nearby. Highly recommend the restaurant immediately opposite the hotel, which is tiny and very French. The room was brilliant, lovely comfortable bed (we upgraded to a superior) with plenty of space and a super modern bathroom with good toiletries. The staff were all absolutely charming, and if we could afford it, we would certainly stay there again.

Expensive but comfy

by TripAdvisor Member Nick_From_Manchester

Contrary to earlier reports, the hotel is not too badly located in my opinion, being 30 seconds walk from the tube station at Notre Dame Des Champs, OK not a main line station, but none the less easy to get too.

The price of the hotel however is not cheap, so I understand and support the ‘location V cost’ issues.

Le Six has clearly been refurbished recently, so is: modern, fresh and spotlessly clean; benefiting from nice touches like Internet (chargeable), modern plasma TV, robes and slippers, electronic door locks, wooden floors, coffee making facilities and safe.

A turndown service was also offered, with a little chocolate left on your pillow. Bed was comfy with crisp cotton sheets.

The en-suite bathroom was again ultra-modern (shower over bath), although like most Parisian hotels, compact.

On the negative side was the price and the view from the room into a central courtyard / shaft which although had been made into a feature with plastic plants, paintings and fresh white paint; was still a brick square shaft overlooking only the other hotel windows (see photo).

If you do stay, visit the restaurant across the road, “Chez Marcel”, very traditional and friendly.

Perfect Place

We booked into Le Six via the Eurostar weekend break website, and it was an inspired choice. We stayed in the wonderful Room 602, stylish, comfortable, and with a magnificent bathroom.

The Six is perfectly placed in Montparnasse for classic restaurants and bistrots like La Coupole and Le Select,m but within easy walking distance of great shops, the Luxembourg Gardens, and St Germain.

We couldn't stay anywhere else in Paris after a truly wonderful romantic weekend. Oh - and the staff are beyond helpful.

My new favorite hotel in Paris!!

by TripAdvisor Member weiterboy

I must say that this hotel has been a revelation to me! I didn't know what to expect - after all, so many Left Bank hotels are very disappointing BUT this one was absolutely great! The room was very generous in size, the bathroom positively enormous by small hotel standards, and the personnel couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. Because it's new, everything was impeccable and stylish, the beds extremely comfortable, and wonderful sheets. The location, too, was very nice --- it felt like a real neighborhood rather than in the middle of a touristy area, with cozy small restaurants, easy Metro access and cute small shops. Another bonus was the small but useful exercise room and the charming spa downstairs. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who's looking for a more sophisticated and more authentic Parisian experience and isn't afraid to be a few minutes away from the center of things.

Excellent hotel

by TripAdvisor Member amsterdamreview

Everything about this hotel was excellent.
The rooms are spacious and very modern for Paris. There is a nice spa with a broad choice of treatments that are available. The location is very convenient for both business as vacation, and they have a very tasty breakfast menu. The helpfull staff is really going out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I have stayed in numerous hotels in Paris over the last couple of years for my work, and this was definately by far the best one.
