Central Location to stay - In Paris 1 night for layover

by wjd

Hello!

We will be in Paris for a layover for one night...our last night of our honeymoon!

We will arrive in CDG at 3pm and leave the next day from CDG at 1pm.

We would like to stay somewhere close to transportation to the airport so that we don't waste time doing that, and rather have more time to experience as much of Paris as we possibly can.

We would like our hotel to be no more than $150/night. Does anyone have any suggestions to a nice, central hotel?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on what to do, where to go for one night - sites, restaurants, etc. that would be wonderful too!

Thank you!

Wendy

Everyplace in Paris is close to transportation to the airport. You can take the Metro to the RER to the airport. To make it even better, stay near an RER station. That eliminates one change. We stay near the Luxembourg RER and it is very convenient.

That said, I won't recommend our hotel for the last night of a honeymoon. You might enjoy Hotel Clement in St. Germain. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Cluny RER station but the hotel is very nice and worth the walk. We stay there when we can't get into our cheaper hotel. It is also a half block from the Mabillon Metro station which is a help while you are there although you will probably walk wherever you want to go since you have such a limited time. I can't think of many things more romantic than walking the streets of Paris at night. 8^)

Here's the Hotel Clement web site. http://www.clement-moliere-paris-hotel.com/

You can also check the Hotel Clement rates at http://www.france.com because sometimes they have cheaper rates than the hotel web site. We usually book through france.com and have never had a problem. That web site is http://www.france.com/hotels/hotel.cfm?hotel_id=558 or just go to http://www.france.com and type Clement into the search window.

Good luck.
